Background removal workflow
Remove Background from Sticker Images
Remove the surrounding rectangle from a sticker image while checking the outline you want to keep. Export a PNG cutout for your next layout.

Before you upload
- Use a single sticker on a background that contrasts with its border; a white sticker on white paper gives the model little separation.
- Keep the full outline in frame, including rounded corners and any intentional white border.
- Upload the original JPEG, PNG or WebP under 10 MB, rather than a screenshot of a cutting-machine preview.

A real first-pass example

Original star sticker with a white border on a blue-green background, processed once. Inspect the border itself; no new border or cutting path was added after generation.
Choose which edge should remain
A sticker may have two boundaries: the artwork’s edge and a white border surrounding it. The automatic mask can interpret the border as either foreground or background. If the border matters to your design, make it visible in the source by placing it on a contrasting background and leaving space around the whole sticker.
The tool has no border-width slider and does not create a new outline. Decide whether you want the existing border retained before processing, then compare its thickness on every side of the result. The sample below starts with a white border so you can inspect how one actual removal handles that boundary.
Inspect details inside and outside the sticker
Do not judge the result only from the largest colored shape. Check small lettering, disconnected dots, stars and narrow corners. White details inside a face or a letter can be mistaken for background, while a detached decoration may be dropped entirely. The light and dark preview backgrounds help reveal a ragged outer edge or leftover color from the original surface.
If the model removes a border you need, use the original artwork to rebuild the border in an editor. If the input is a photograph of a physical sticker, wrinkles, glare and paper texture may remain inside the selected shape. Background removal is not a redraw or a print-quality repair process.
Keep image export separate from print setup
The result is a PNG with an estimated alpha mask. It is useful as a layer in a mockup or print layout, but it is not a vector cutting path, bleed specification or guarantee of compatibility with a cutting machine. Set the final physical dimensions, border, bleed and cut line in the software required by your printer or cutter.
Keep the original image and the transparent result together while checking the layout. A crisp-looking thumbnail does not establish sufficient resolution for print. Confirm the pixel dimensions of the downloaded file against your intended size, and review a proof before offering a physical product.
Check before you use the result
- The intended white outline survives on all sides.
- Small eyes, letters and separate decorations remain.
- No rectangle or fringe of the source background remains.
- Print bleed and vector cut paths are prepared separately.
Questions about this workflow
Does this generate sticker designs?
No. Start with your own existing artwork. This page prepares a cutout rather than creating a new sticker illustration.
Will the white border always stay?
No. The model estimates the subject boundary and may remove part of a border. A contrasting source helps, but you still need to inspect the PNG.
Is the PNG ready for a cutting machine?
It contains pixels and transparency, not a verified vector cut path. Follow your printer or cutter’s separate setup requirements.
